John Butler

Australian singer/songwriter John Butler has lent his support to the Close the Gap campaign by signing the pledge which calls on Australian governments to take action to achieve health equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

In the country of the supposed fair go, addressing the status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health is one of the greatest challenges to this country’s sense of decency and fairness. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders continue to needlessly suffer and die early. Not from a lack of solutions or government promises but from a lack of political will and action.

John and fellow members of the John Butler Trio are strongly committed to social equity and justice and, in addition to the Close the Gap campaign, support the Make Poverty History Campaign.

The John Butler Trio tour this August to promote their latest album, Grand National.
