Our vision, values and goals
At Oxfam Australia, we believe all lives are equal and no-one should live in poverty.
We believe that in a wealthy world, poverty is unjustifiable and preventable, that the present state of inequality and injustice must be challenged, and that with the right support, people can change their lives for the better.
Our Vision
To end poverty, Oxfam disrupts inequality by partnering with communities to create a just, safe and thriving world.
Our Purpose
We relieve and eliminate poverty.

How we work

When a crisis hits, we respond rapidly with vital humanitarian aid to save lives.
By working with a global network of local partner organisations, we’re able to respond quickly with exactly what’s needed. Working directly with communities means we can tailor our response to needs as they emerge, protecting people most at risk.
Once the immediate threat is over, we stay on to support communities, with tools and resources to help rebuild their lives and protect against future disasters.
