Amanda Banks, Head of Media
Amanda leads Oxfam’s media team in Australia, and is based in Melbourne.
The team covers all areas of Oxfam’s work and seeks to inform the public about our overseas aid and development programs, our response to humanitarian disasters and our advocacy work on issues such as inequality, labour rights, Indigenous rights and the effect of climate change in developing countries.
Prior to her Head of Media role, Amanda worked as Senior Media Coordinator, handling Oxfam’s advocacy and campaigns work. Before joining Oxfam, Amanda held positions as the Legal Affairs Editor and State Political Reporter at The West Australian. She has also worked as a journalist at The Australian.
Lily Partland, Senior Media Coordinator
Based in Melbourne, Lily leads media relating to humanitarian crises, climate change, and international programs, as well as Oxfam’s First Peoples Program.
Prior to joining Oxfam, Lily worked at aid agencies Plan International and Save the Children – in Australia and London. She has been deployed to support emergency responses in Ethiopia, Iraq, Bangladesh and South Sudan. Before joining the aid sector, she worked as a journalist for media outlets including the ABC.
