Oxfam calls for Floriade volunteers

Oxfam is calling for volunteers to help out at its inspiring GROW Garden and stall at next month’s Floriade festival in Canberra.

The international development agency – one of two Floriade charity partners – will be showcasing its GROW campaign, which aims to raise awareness of how we can all contribute to tackling world hunger.

I recently met Reema*, a 19-year-old Syrian girl, in a refugee camp in Lebanon. Back in Syria, Reema had her whole life before her. She’d just finished high school, and was about to go to university to study. She was eager to work and set up her future.
