The 4th Oxfam Trailwalker Brisbane came to a close this morning with the final courageous team crossing the finish line at Mount Coot-tha around 5.00am.

One of Australia’s toughest charity events, Oxfam Trailwalker, kicks off today in Brisbane with around 1300 gutsy walkers taking on the challenge to support those living in poverty.

The 12th Oxfam Trailwalker Melbourne has finished with 81 percent of participants completing the gruelling 100km endurance challenge, and the efforts of entrants and their supporters raising $2.4 million dollars to help fight poverty.

Oxfam Chief Executive Dr Helen Szoke has done the hard yards with her grassroots supporters, crossing the finish line of the 100km Oxfam Trailwalker Melbourne endurance fundraising challenge today, hours after another participant was rewarded for her efforts with a diamond ring.

The first team has crossed the line in the Oxfam Trailwalker Melbourne 100km endurance fundraising challenge, crediting team work for their swift finishing time of 10 hours and 31 minutes.

From 3-16 February, Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge will be illuminated ‘Oxfam Green’ to spotlight the global launch of a new 55km version of Oxfam Trailwalker – Australia’s leading charity endurance event.
